The choices for what a student can choose from and what interests they might have is a solid way for the student to really explore their own mastery level of the subject.

Having one on one meetings with students could be helpful. With time given, a teacher could possibly have some documents translated to help with communication.

The biggest struggle is just knowledge of programs that a gen educator can use in the classroom. The time needed to master these programs and to adjust these to my lesson plan is very difficult.

When asking for vocabulary definitions and pictures that correlate with the word, students will use anything that is given to them by google. Rarely do they take time to understand the content and where the vocabulary word would fit with different options given to them.

The most effective way is for me to start on Friday’s with my favorites. So, we will share something of that category in being your favorite. Restaurants, movies, etc

This lesson is over propaganda and how it was used during the Holocaust. Students will analyze the language, imagery, and techniques used in the propaganda to achieve its goals. Anytime that this topic comes up in World History class, it is always very important to use primary sources and allow the students to build of prior knowledge and give them a pathway to gain more knowledge. The engagement between students during the discussion aspect of the lesson.

Introduction: Begin with a KWL chart (What We Know, What We Want to Know, and What We Learned) about the Korean War. Have students brainstorm what they already know and what they want to learn. Briefly introduce the Korean Peninsula and its geographic location.

Main Instruction: Use your digital presentation to introduce the following concepts: Division of Korea after WWII (38th parallel), Rise of communism in North Korea, Tensions between North and South Korea, show pictures and maps to enhance understanding.

Wrap up of Day 1: Briefly review the key points covered. Have students update their KWL chart based on what they learned.

Identify 1-2 areas where you think you can improve. What would you do differently next time? One area to improve would be to locate different primary sources that are easier to use in an online setting.

Canvas is the preferred LMS for our school corporation. The calendar is beneficial because it allows for students to stay organized, keep up with daily agendas, and also work from home if they are not at school.

My homepage has all the contact information and class procedures and policies.

The most frustrating part of online teaching is the aspect of having questions from students regarding due dates that are explained very clearly at the beginning of the session. Keeping a daily reminder on Canvas of due dates could be a helpful way to remind students of their responsibility.

    Using the canvas calendar
Making sure that all assignments are listed in each day. The agenda and what is due is always listed there for anyone to see that is in class or for students that are absent.
Having this organization on the calendar helps because it allows a more direct way to see when assignments are due instead of just listening to the teacher or going to the module and trying to locate specific ones.

I have used Padlet multiple times this spring semester. I use it for introduction type lessons, or utilizing it for a bell ringer. It allows students to see their responses and to also make sure any questions on the topic can be displayed in real time.
