ParticipantManaging student behavior and engagement can be very challenging during online teaching and learning sessions. Using observations/anecdotal notes about how students engage during the lesson and having an incentive system can help in this area. After lessons or during brain breaks, a few minutes can be used to transfer anecdotal notes to points toward incentives. A system of points and incentive distribution can motivate students to improve their engagement and behavior during lessons.

ParticipantIn order to keep my tabs organized and visually simple, I use the Google Chrome tab grouping feature. I’m able to label tabs and group like sites within each group. For example, I may have several email accounts open – personal, school, business, etc. I will place those in one tab. Then I will place instructional sites in a different group. For example, I’d add Kahoot, Canvas, Quizlet, Canva, etc. to that group. Another way that I separate things that I’m doing is to have a connected monitor for managing Word Document tasks while on the platform or website. These two organization habits help to keep me moving along and even multitasking with ease as the day moves along. To open this feature, right click on any tab, then choose “Add to new group”. After that group of one is formed, other tabs can be slid into the group by holding and dragging the tab next to the group.
