1. Before starting a class, do a background knowledge scan and do short reviews with the help of the students. Then connect that prior knowledge with the new content you want to teach.
2. Work with other subjects where students are able to integrate different content.
3. Visual material posted on the walls of the classroom.
4. Have the students do group work and then teach the rest of their classmates.
5. Invent songs to remember some content.

How to interpret word problems that include multiplication and division (identifying which aspect of the word problem represent the “groups” and which aspect of the word problem represents the “objects”)
Being able to independently determine what model might be helpful in solving the problem
Writing the answer to a word problem in a complete sentences and/or labeling the answer in the context of the word problem
Bar models in multiplication and division -

-first thing we do is make sure everyone is ready to start the day,we have to be in a positive mind set,we need to be open to learning
-review material, where are we,do we need to reteach or is it time to go on
-be able to use math sentences, writing out equations and verbally explaining the procedures to show complete understanding of the problem
-able to use models to show your work
-able to solve problems more than one way -

Quick reviews of previous material to help retention, group work to encourage collaboration and different approaches to solving a problem, anchor charts as reminders, and manipulatives to foster understanding are some techniques one could use.

I FEEL I ALWAYS HAVE TO RETEACH:
– ISTRATEGIES FOR HOW TO FIGURE OUT MULT/DIV PROBLEMS THEY DON’T KNOW
– FRACTION RULES: MAKING EQUIV FRACTIONS, ADD & SUBTRACT FRACTIONS IS THE MOST COMMON
– DECIMAL MULTIPLICATION – WHERE THE DECIMAL GOES & MULTI-DIGIT MULTPLICATION REVIEW
– LONG DIVISION PROCESS
– STATISTICS (MEAN, MEDIAN, MODE & RANGE)
